Description | Small, twined basket. Round, bowl shape with slightly concave bottom, flaring sides, shoulder and neck. Lid has narrow flaring sides and fits over neck. Material is grass. Neck made of rather broad splint topped with braided edge. Bottom has stitching in dark red around edge and in middle; sides have continuous zigzag, going around, in pink bordered with red enclosed in two rows of green; green is in skip stitch and rows are se-parated by band of natural color. Lid: single row of black around side; 2 rows of green on top and with pink and black around small green center. In the lid the decoration shows the inside only, except for black around side, and is done by overlay; part of design is wrapped twining. Zigzag design on basket is in wrapped twining. |
