Description | A small container of birchbark folded and sewn together; consists of two sections, a lid (.2) and bottom (.1), held together by a band of hide stained red; the bottom of the band is decorated with fringe; the top forms a loop handle on which two Chinese coins serve as a stop for the lid; an incised and painted (red and black) decorative band of birchbark has been applied to lower edge of container lid. |
