Description | Crudely carved, representing a human. One arm missing, other detached. Legs indicated by two narrow sections of bone which curve forward and upward and give a hooklike profile at base. Abdomen and buttock areas protrude slightly and base below buttock areas is first cut away and then pro-truding. Nevertheless, figure has a basic columnar shape. Planes of face indicated-Slit for mouth, inset white shells with black centers for eyes. Flat bar of bone (now broken) nailed high on each side for attach-ment of arms. Detached arm; flat piece of bone, fan-shaped, mostly hand. End and one finger broken. ALmost entire figure saturated with dark grease. |
