Description | Spherical body, cylindrical neck ; one loop handle shoulder to neck. Red. With a face on neck. Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jug with a globular body, cylindrical neck, irregular, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. The vessel has a modeled face on the neck and modeled arms and ornaments on the body. There may be traces of paint. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is buff in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1603." |
