Description | Ornamented Gourds. With burnt decoration. Used for storage of small articles; some were also used for storing oil. Geometric incised and blackened decoration. Five panels each containing a large double lined X are incised around body of the gourd; small incised triangle ornamented with crosshatch pattern on all four sides; two columns seperate two panels each of a vertical diamond motif; blackened ring around base. |
