Description | Multi-colored painted wooden cloud kachina figure of Sio Shalako featuring red, yellow, teal, white, black, blue, green, and salmon colored paint. The back of the head is adorned with large brown and black feathers while the top has small bright green feathers. The base of the horns and snout are wrapped in rope. The figure wears a collar of darker brown feathers and fur draped around its shoulders. A single red feather hangs from the proper right (PR) horn and a white feather hangs from the proper left (PL) horn. Two whiter feathers with brown tips hangs down from the front of the body in a line. Two smaller feathers peak out from underneath the shawl at the bottom sides. "H Shelton" is written in black ink on the bottom of the PL foot. |
