Description | The object is identified as a Hopi Male Kokopelli, an insect kachina, the Assassin Fly Kachina also known as the Humpbacked Flute Player. The Kachina is made of carved painted wood. The figure's mouth is now missing. A dark brown feather is tied to the top of the head with a white cotton string. The Kachina wears no clothing except for a black bandolier and white moccasin boots. Ithiphalyic, his genitalia are prominent; he has a hunched back. Paint colors: gray, black, light green, pink. |
