Description | The object is identified as a Hopi Butterfly Maiden. She is made of carved painted wood. The white faced figure wears an elaborate and colorful tablita headdress with feathers on top, front, and at the sides and top of the head decoration. She wears a black manta dress, a white embroidered kilt across her torso, and a white string braided belt. Paint colors: white/cream, black, brown, ochre, light blue, green, blue, red, pink, purple. |
