Description | Long, cylindrical piece of wood, with two prongs at top. Deep groove hollowed out along one side, in lower third. Covered with incised designs colored red, white and black, except for the two prongs about 12 cm at bottom, which are plain black. Designs include concentric circles, hourglass shapes, chevrons, a line of zig-zags, a cross-hatched line, etc. Hollowed groove colored white. Deeply cracked along length, one prong badly cracked. This piece somewhat resembles some pronged ornamental sticks from the Paupan Gulf. However, it is about three times as long, and the designs are not the same. |
