Description | Shape: flattened hemisphere as 67-39-7. Two deep thick incised lines just below rim. Med. lt. green patina almost worn down to metal in spots outside, and abraded away (modern) over much of inside leaving bare metal and many scratches. (This done either to check for metal, for this is heaviest bowl, or to look for inscription.) Metal is discolored in parts inside from normal yellow-gold to orange; patches of granular patina remain. Small hole corroded through bottom and through ca. 1.3 cm below rim from which crack extends upward to rim. Small triangular piece broken off rim (Ca. 1.5 x 1.4 cm). At one side of gap clear that hole had been punched from inside. Inside, but off center are six engraved symbols (see drawing, over) which are probably a number and may indicate the weight of the bowl. |
