Description

Bell cup; ribbon handle. Fine clay, not visible beneath dark brown (7.5 YR 4/4) to darker paint, with decoration in added white paint. Completely painted, including bottom of base. Added white: bands below rim, on body, and on lower body. Restored from fragments; some sherds missing. Comments: MM III. Marked "B44" on bottom of base. From House B, room 44. For the shape (Walberg 1983: type 223) compare Hawes et al. 1908: pl. 2, no. 16 (Gournia); Chapouthier and Demargne 1962: pl. 41, no. 8625 (Mallia).
