The vessel is shaped like a human figure with hat, earrings, eyes, nose, mouth, and body with modeled arms. The vessel is painted to delineate the features of the figure including a white red, and blue/gray striped hat, and tunic with geometric designs in orange, black, and white. The face is painted with red, black, and gray designs as well. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the side of the vessel reads: "2704." |
