Description | Vermeule: Chalcedony-Onyx. Cameo. (Unmounted) Bust of Serapis facing, the kalathos or modius on his head. Cameo bust copies marble busts such as those in the Vatican and the Villa Albani which in turn copy the seated cult statue by Bryaxis in Serapis temple in Alexandria. |
