Description | Frontal head of female wearing mantle over head and high polos. Mantle rises to a peak above center of forehead. Polos decorated with 4 horizontal zones in relief; bottom to top, hatched lines; a row of circles with central dot; hatched lines; a row of vertical impressed lines. She wears circular earings. Hair brushed back between ears and temple. Back of head not modelled. Hollow. Light brown clay. Broken off at neck. In ink on back; "Ptolemaic Greek from Fayoum". |
