Description | Tomb 2A = Herscher Tomb 802A. Red polished IV jug with beak spout. Hard dark red-brown clay with dark gray interior, many small inclusions. Matt red-brown to mostly brown slip. Round base, ovoid body; conical neck, beak spout; vertical handle, round in section, from rim to upper body; pointed lug on front upper neck. Relief and incised decoration: relief crescent, each incised with three pairs of short vertical lines, one at front, either side, and below handle; sharp V-shaped relief band on front upper neck, incised with pairs of short lines; vertical row of hatching on front neck within the V, below it, and on lug; broken incised line parallel to rim.
