Description | A traditional style and sized axe with a long, slightly curved bamboo handle. The head is a piece of wood with an iron blade that has a small hole in the side. The wood extends into a long tail. It is used for felling trees and shaping logs into planks. It was bought from Ban Kham Yang two years ago (date of aquisition 1981 so bought around 1979). The hole in the metal may mean it was used in some previous capacity before it was turned into an axe. |
