Description | Gray bucchero stemmed dish. High, hollow stemmed foot with trumpet base. The base is decorated with a horizontal groove, while the stem has a thin ridge below a thicker bulging ring. Convex body opening into a shallow bowl with a raised horizontal rim. The vertical overhanging lip has two grooves around its exterior, and three female head appliqués with daedalic features. The heads are rectangular at the bottom and rounded at the top. Surface quite encrusted, contains mica inclusions. Several large cracks running through the body. |
