Description | Flattened. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a lentoid body, hyperboloid neck, missing rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has two post-fired incised mark on each side of the body. The marks may be maker's mark and are in the shape of triangles with other straight and curved lines attached or inside. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing and reducing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is brown and gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
