Description | Cup-Kantharos. (Shape / name see Talcott & Sparkes Black anbd Plain Pottery). Decoration in white, red, yellow and incision. A top down: egg pattern, zone of alternate red and yellow horizontal brush strocks; 3 panels formed by dots and incision in the center of which is a dove facing left. B: just above handle level a horizontal garland with dot leaves. Lower wall reserved with wheel painted glaze line. Stem and middle part of stepped foot reserved and painted red. Part of underside of foot reserved and painted red also; whell painted glaze circle. Intact. Very good black glaze. Handles recurved. |
