Description | "Manta" or blanket with an opening through the center through which the head is placed, made of wool so tightly woven as to be virtually water repellant. A common article of apparel in the rainy south of Chile, these are favored particularly by horsemen. Woven of sheep wool. Made by Sara Lincolao, who in 1973 was about 75 years old. Sara is considered one of the cultural treasures of the country of Chile. |
