Description

Votive hand towel (Hônô tenugui). Rust and blue background. White letters. Japanese characters say Josyu, Takasaki-honmachi (address); Ryonin-yado (inn for travelers); Shohachi Osakaya (name). Label reads: "Iemitsu temple, No. 3 Shogun, Nikko. Obtained from the priests with difficulty."
