Vessel

A: Fruit-shaped; neck missing. Polychrome with longitudinal stripes.

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an effigy-fruit shaped body, missing neck, missing rim, missing strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. Fruit shaped vessel. The vessel is shaped like a fruit with a molded/modeled pedicel on one side. The body is painted orange with red/brown lines running longitudinally. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and buff in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1814."
