Description | Wooden Katsina doll. The face was likely painted white or green with a black band over the eyes and an inverted triangle for the mouth. Black fur is attached to the forehead. A terraced ear is simulated with paint on one side and an elaborate horn with feathers and hair is attached to the opposite side of the head. The body is painted red, blue and yellow and a kilt is painted over the waist. This figure is Saiastasana, a representation of the Zuni Rain Priest of the North.
