Description

Gidayu-shamisen. Used in Gidayu singing. Body of redwood, squarish with rounded corners, covered with parchment on both sides; slender redwood neck made of three pieces fitted together. Top of neck is slightly curved. Three black lateral pegs. Silk strings are attached to cords which are attached to small metal spike at bottom of neck, which pierces body.
