Description | Complete. One side very worn. Handmade. Base is hollow, inverted semispherical. Cylindrical stem. Rim exactly like upturned base but slightly smaller. Brown-black geometric/curvilinear decoration. Two areas of added red, interior of base and rim, rather worn. Decoration in horizontal registers of varying widths. Decoration includes stylized vine derived from "West Slope" ware, one on base, one on lower body. Medium to heavy fabric. Fairly fine clay. Burnished. Firing varies yellow-to red-brown. Very fine mica. |
