Description | Human mask of light wood, exterior stained black. From the chin suspends a fringe or beard of fibers from a plaited band attached through three holes on each side. A separate set of perforations surround the mask. Eyes represented by raised rings one of which retains a flat metal ring encrusted in a resinous concretion. The nose is concave with the alae indicated in very low relief. Steeply jutting lips have been faced with red flannel (only bits remain). Teeth are metal (some missing). |
