Description | Orientalizing; fine tan impasto beaked jug with lentoid body; see also : 74-28-2, 74-28-3. Base a flattening, slightly concave underneath. Body low, short, wide, with 10 applied vertical ridges. Neck tall, conical, flared to rim, but then cut away and pinched in to form beaked spout. Trefoil lip plain, thin. Handle has twin thin rolls pulled apart to form two plain attachments on upper body. Fabric fairly fine, hand burnished, fired dull brown. |
