Description | Dilruba. Long-necked wooden instrument with waisted body and membrane sounding surface. Indented trough in neck. 18 movable metal frets. Metal strings stretch from ivory faced end piece, through holes in an ivory bridge, and around diagonally spaced ivory pegs in neck to wooden pegs in strip attached to side of neck. 4 large knobbed pegs(2 frontal, 2 lateral) in pegbox. Metal strings. 1 side peg missing, 1 top peg chipped. Most strings detached or missing. |
