Description

Sommerville: Antique paste cameo. Nymphs bathing. Second century. Antique Pastes, Case YYY.

Vermeule: Glass paste, imitating Sardonyx. White on blue. (Unmounted) Aphrodite standing to left, bathing in a foot bath into which a nymh pours water from the left. Graeco-Roman, the composition probably based on a later Hellenistic painting or even a statue group.
