Description | Standing draped woman. Ca 1/2 life sized. Head, melon coiffure (but apparently misunderstood by the sculptor); large bun; looks down and to her left. Wears dress (chiton?) under a mantle that is so draped that the left breast is revealed beneath the dress. Folds of mantle caught up around left lower arm. Weight on right leg. Right arm touched hip beneath mantle. Left arm along side, slightly extended. Back is summarily finished. Plinth of rounded outline conforming in shape to furthest extension of feet and drapery. |
