Description | Rattle lid. Technical notes: twined, close twined, two-strand, three-strand, in-between weave (with plain), wrapped weft ("false embroidery"); 15 warps and 17 wefts per square inch. Rattle-top lid; label: "small covered basket woven of split young spruce root and wild rye straws. Tlilngit Indians Yakutat Alaska," and back: "seed in the lid give sthe alarm when anyone attempts to steal the treasure basket." Label: "broken key design." |
