Description

Plain weave cotton cloth. Red ground with green, blue, yellow and white forming plaid. Designs of stylized animals, birds and geometric forms are embroidered in squares with silk thread in multiple colors.

As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 58 epi, Z twist, single ply cotton. Weft: 46 ppi, single ply, Z twist, cotton. Cross stripes in blue, yellow, magenta, black and white silk and stripes of several strands of white and blue cotton twisted together forming a chevron effect. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. One panel, four selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom."
