Vermeule: Amethyst: scarab. Intaglio. (Modern silver swiveled ring setting) A priest in Syrian or East Greek costume standing to left, holding a staff-like object in his raised right hand. A bird on an altar appears at the left and two indeterminate objects are seen in the field. North Syrian of the Hellenistic Period?
