Description

Wood mask. Flesh-colored face with broad nose and large open hole for eyes. Mouth with pink gums, eight small pointed teeth, fangs. Hinged jaw. Matching hide sewn across top of domed bald head. Real head hair, bushy eyebrows, moustache, and beard. Deeply carved wrinkles, especially on forehead. Probably a demonic character in Balinese Calonarang dance drama: a comic female witch named Celuluk. (See Slattum, Judy. 2003.
