Description | Tomb 2B = Herscher Tomb 802B. Red polished III jug with round spout. Fragmentary. Red clay with dark gray interior, large black inclusions. Thick dark red slip, speckled with black, little preserved. Round-pointed base, body not restored; wide conical neck, round spout, flaring rim; vertical handle, oval in seciton, from mid-neck to upper body. Undecorated. Cf. _SCE_ IV:1A, fig. CXL.11, probably all by the same hand. |
