Black jug with figure of an animal in place of handle

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a squat-globular body, hyperboloid neck, flattened rim, 1 effigy-zoomorphic handle extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. The handle is in the shape of a felid standing on the shoulder and grabbing the neck. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere with localized oxidation as the ceramic paste is gray and buff in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3117."
