Description | Medium brown, fairly heavy wood. Bottom sawed off, tapering top broken off. Middle portion has (starting from bottom) large human head carved in full relief, with perforated nose; stylized bird head with perforated beak; "beaked" motif, perforated, small head, nose perforated, in three-quarter relief, and bird's head with perforated beak, also in three-quarter relief. Through beak perforations, and between upper two heads, are tied many long strands of a raffia-like fiber, knotted on either side of the perforations. |
