Description | Narrow “spatula” with long, flat upper surface and convex underside. The shape of the body is rectangular except for the rounded tip. The round handle is narrower than the body. The end of the handle is chipped off, as is the rounded tip. A thick layer of black paint has been applied over a light terracotta fabric in order to give it the appearance of bucchero. The fabric is exposed where the paint has chipped off at both ends. The shape and coarseness of the piece suggests that it may have been made from a mould of a genuine example. |
