Description | Three dimensional puppet with wooden torso, wooden head, wooden arms, articulated at shoulder and elbows, cotton skirt from waist down. Puppet is held and operated by a wooden stick which passes through a hole in the torso and into the base of the head and by sticks attached to the hands. Face and neck pink, rest of skin grey. Bulging round red eyes, tiny nose. Green pillbox hat with knob in middle of top. No arm ornaments, Hnds down, one clenched. Light brown band with dark brown borders around neck and crossed over chest. Dark gray velvet sash. Batik skirt; dark blue with sprays of large white flowers and leaves. Anonymous male character; a commoner, low ranking official, servant, or errand boy. |
