Description | Obv. 洪武通寶 Kobu Tsuho. Rev. 治 Ji. Made in the village of Kajiki (加治木) in Kyushu, Japan. Also known as a Kajiki sen (加治木銭) which is a variety of Bitasen (鐚銭) which are coins made in Japan not minted by an imperial authority. This coin has the same obverse as the 洪武通寶 Hong Wu Tong Bao of the Ming Dynasty minted under Emperor Taizu. The reverse includes the character 治 Ji which is short for Kajiki (加治木), the village where it was minted. |
